Brothers in Prison | |||||

Our ummah's 'Eid is nearing and I haven't done much Qur'an reading. Yet I feel very happy with my accomplishments this month. I was able to pray on time and mostly in congregation. I've lost a few habits I've been wanting to get rid of for years. Alhamdulillah, the wonders we go through in just a month! Recently I've been reading about our brothers who have been put into prison without justice. Brothers such as Daniel Joseph Maldonado, an American convert who was arrested by the Kenyan military in January 2007 and handed over to the US authorities. I can't describe enough how touched I am to hear his story in prison. Just last night, my uncle had treated the family to an all-you-can-eat buffet at a restaurant in a hotel. I couldn't go more than a plate of rice, chicken and some desserts. I had trouble tasting the food as I thought of how our brothers in prisons would be missing out. I dedicate this post to them. “What can my enemies do to me? My ..Paradise.. is in my heart; it goes with me wherever I am. If they kill me, it is martyrdom. If they exile me from my land, it is a vacation in the Path of Allah. If they imprison me, it is to allow me a private devotion with Allah” << Next Post | Previous Post >>
